What is Verata?
Verata is cloud-based calibration management software built for UK engineering and manufacturing businesses. It replaces spreadsheets and paper records with a live gauge register, automatic scheduling, calibration result logging with pass/fail judgement, out-of-tolerance impact assessments, and one-click audit reports — designed to evidence compliance with ISO 9001:2015, UKAS traceability requirements, and AS9100 Rev D.
Is Verata suitable for ISO 9001:2015 audits?
Yes. Verata is designed to satisfy the monitoring and measuring resources requirements of ISO 9001:2015 clause 7.1.5. It records calibration status, results, reference standards, and measurement traceability for every instrument, and exports a one-click compliance snapshot that gives assessors the documentary evidence they require.
Does Verata support UKAS measurement traceability?
Yes. Each calibration record in Verata links the instrument to its reference standard, creating an unbroken traceability chain from the shop floor to a UKAS-accredited national standard. This chain is captured in every calibration event and included in exported compliance reports and PDF certificates.
How does Verata handle out-of-tolerance gauge readings?
When readings fall outside the configured tolerance band, Verata automatically flags the gauge as out-of-tolerance (OOT). You then record a formal impact assessment documenting which parts, processes, or products may have been measured with a non-conforming instrument — the documentary evidence ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev D assessors require.
Can Verata replace a calibration spreadsheet?
Yes. Verata replaces static calibration spreadsheets with a live system: due dates are tracked automatically, readings are recorded against tolerance bands with automatic pass/fail judgement, and a complete calibration history is maintained for every instrument — accessible by your whole team in real time from any browser.
How much does Verata cost for UK businesses?
Verata is free for up to 15 gauges with no credit card required. Paid plans start at £25 per month (Starter — up to 50 gauges, 10 users) and £49 per month (Growth — unlimited gauges, up to 50 users). All prices are in GBP, billed monthly, and exclude VAT.
Is Verata compliant with AS9100 Rev D?
Yes. Verata's calibration records, OOT assessments, and compliance reports are designed to satisfy the measurement equipment requirements of AS9100 Rev D, the quality management standard for UK aerospace and defence manufacturers.
What types of instruments can I track in Verata?
Verata supports any measuring instrument or gauge — including micrometers, callipers, bore gauges, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, temperature probes, force gauges, and general test equipment. Each record stores make, model, serial number, location, owner, calibration interval, and full calibration history.
